Personal hygiene refers to maintaining cleanliness of one’s body and clothing to preserve overall health and well-being. Good personal hygiene habits include:
•HAVING A REGULAR BATH. If possible, you should have a shower or a bath every day. However, there may be times when this is not possible. For example, during camping or when there is a shortage of water.
• CLEANING THE TEETH AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. Brushing the teeth after each meal is a good way to make sure that gum disease and tooth decay are avoided. It is very important to clean the teeth immediately before going to bed or after waking up in the morning.
• PROPER HAND WASHING. Hands should be washed with clean soap and water, using a brush if the fingernails are dirty. To prevent infections, you should always wash your hands: after using the toilet, before cooking or eating food, after handling garbage and after sneezing.
• CHANGING INTO CLEAN CLOTHES. Dirty clothes should be washed with laundry soap and hung in the sun to dry before wearing them again, . The sun’s rays will kill some disease-causing germs and parasites that are harbored in unwashed clothes.
