The program started at12pm as planned with Miss Jaachi anchoring the first session. The programme was held on zoom.The first session was taken by Mr. Progress Agboola. Mr Progress discussed extensively on CV writing. One of the things worthy of note from his session was that a person can have as many CVs and each should be tailored to the application. He used his time effectively and ended within his allotted time. The anchor then asked questions on what was discussed with benefits attached to getting the answers correctly. She handed over to the next anchor ,Mr. Babalola Sayo. As at this time( 12.27pm) there were over 80 participants.
Mr. Sayo moderated the next session.He started out by reading the citation of the next Presenter, Dr. Abioye. He started his session appreciating UIMSA for the initiative ,especially in times like this. Dr. Abioye spoke on Grant and Proposal Writing ,emphasising on key principles, why we write and things to remember when writing. He ended his impactful session taking questions and the anchor also did “give away” to the correct answerers of the questions. He then handed over to the next anchor.
Miss Odeleke Maryam anchored the next session ,which began at around 1:36pm .She read out the citation of the next speaker,Mr Adesanya.Mr Adesanya took the next session where he spoke on Letter Writing.He started with this saying “You can not write anything, If you have nothing to write, you need experience but not a lot”. He ended the session taking questions and the” give away” was done by the anchor as usual.
A break was taken at 2:19pm with plans to resume by 2:30pm. The fourth Session started by 2.34pm with yet again another anchor ,Mr.Nehemiah. He read the Citation of the next speaker ,Mr Japheth who spoken on Freelancing majorly Upwork.He took his session and was open to questions and willing to share his contact even for further discussion. The session ended with the usual and really encouraging “giveaway”.
The last session was anchored by Mr Sayo, who read the citation of the Last Speaker, Dr Boluwatife. She spoke on Preparing and Excelling at Interview where she simplified the topic using her personal experience as a Rhodes Scholar. She ended her session and took questions with a smile on her face.The last “giveaway” was done,with as many as 10 persons benefitting throughout the programme.
Miss Nwagbara,the General Secretary of UIMSA, and the Head of the Committee who organised this stellar Programme concluded the programme. She stated that while over 300 persons registered for the programme, we had over 100 persons present. She appreciated the Speakers, the Executive Council, her committee members who had spent days planning and everyone present. The participants sent in their thanks to the Organisers of the programme as they were certain they had gained a lot. The programme ended at exactly 3:56pm.It was a long, beautiful 4-hour journey.
