“AUDITION”

The news about physical resumption of the students of the college of medicine, University of Ibadan, was reported by most students to have hit their class WhatsApp pages suddenly and the effects will be felt by most students over the next few days. It was expected by most students that physical resumption was imminent, but most students did not expect it to be so sudden. The WhatsApp broadcast message about the resumption actually entered the WhatsApp page of one of the constituencies under UIMSA at around 11 pm, on the 4^th of June, 2021.The timing of sending the broadcast message was indeed, strategic.

The broadcast message did not only contain information about the details on physical resumption, it also contained  clear procedures to carry out the student audit .The audit is meant for all students of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. A number of students were put into a state of confusion, what can now be termed “Audition”, because they could not access one or more of the required documents for the audit process. While students were thrown into this state of confusion called “Audition”, the members of the “audience”, that is, the students themselves, could be seen providing “audio” support for one another. It was indeed both a beautiful and a sad situation to observe.

The students of the college of medicine, have been known for their resilience over the years. And it was with this resilience that most students were able to go to their respective centres to carry out the audit processes despite the numerous challenges. The resilience and strength of the students of the College of medicine, University of Ibadan, is one that is worthy of emulation of every Nigerian. The audit process started on the 7^th of June, 2021 and it will end on the 11^th of June, 2021. While it is not guaranteed, that the process would become less stressful as the days go by, it is certain that we would at the end complete the process and move on to other things.
