The meeting started at 9:20am at the Fawemo Common Room, Alexander Brown Hall, University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Seventy-one congressmen and women were present.

Seven notices of absence were received.

The Congress had an orientation session facilitated by Dr. Omotosho, the senate chairman of  UIMSA for the 2014/2015 tenure.

Ten new congressmen were co-opted into the Congress; and thereafter sworn in.

The Congress adopted the  documents of the 2016/2017 year plans of the following:

  • The Executive
  • The Senate

The year plan of  DOKITA editorial board was postponed to the next congress meeting.

 

The Congress adopted the corrected documents of the 2016/2017 year plans of the following:

  • The Preclinical Press of the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association; and
  • The Clinical Press of the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association.

Three Congress committees were constituted.  These are the Welfare committee, the Disciplinary committee, and the Publicity committee.

The corrected version of the proposed budget for the 2016/2017 tenure of the congress was adopted.

Elected congressmen and women who were also pressmen, were asked to choose one of either positions, as pressmen should not hold elected positions.

The meeting ended at 1:10 pm.
