NCC says no plan to disqualify Nigerians under 18 years from getting SIM cards

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has denied claims that it planned to disqualify Nigerians below 18 years of age from getting Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards. A media report Wednesday claimed that the NCC was planning to stop Nigerians, under 18 years, from having access to SIM cards. England announces new ‘life-saving’ drug for sickle cell patients

England’s National Health Service (NHS) has announced a new “life-saving” drug Crizanlizumab to help people suffering from sickle cell disease (SCD). Crizanlizumab is expected to be delivered through transfusion drip and “works by binding to a protein in the blood cells to prevent the restriction of blood and oxygen supply that lead to a sickle cell crisis,” NHS said in a statement. Blessing Okagbare faces three more doping charges

Nigerian sprint champion Blessing Okagbare is facing the possibility of a lengthy ban from athletics after three more doping cases surfaced. Okagbare was barred from participating in the Olympic 100-meter semi-finals in July for a doping offence and was handed a four-year ban.
